The popular Via Ferrata Loen will soon be expanded with a long and a short extreme via ferrata in addition to two ziplines in Gjølmunna. The Austrian company HZI will start the opwork at the end of May.

The new via ferratas or climbing trails are offered to the toughest, while the ziplines in the upper part of Gjølmunna are experiences for most people. The longest climbing trail starts at 540 meters above sea level, at the end of a path that starts 70 meters below the entrance to the existing via ferrata. From here, the climbing trail runs close to and more or less parallel with the shuttle train to Hoven, all the way to the top. This is a climbing trail for the tough and specially trained, and not for beginners.

In connection with the existing via ferrata, two ziplines will be built at the top of Gjølmunna. Each zipline will be around 120 meters long. Here, users of all levels will be able to experience hurtling through the air, hanging from the wire. After riding the ziplines, people can choose between entering the existing via ferrata or a new extreme one up a 90 meter high rock wall.

Loen Active aims to have the new offerings ready before July 1.
