The Loen Skylift is one of the steepest cable cars in the world, lifting people from the fjord in Loen to the mountain Hoven (1011 m) in five minutes. At the top is Hoven Restaurant with 350 seats. The facility is part of a year-round nature-based experience arena designed for active explorers, families with children and those who just want to enjoy the view. Loen Skylift and Hoven Restaurant opened on May 20, 2017. Loen Active offers activities such as Via Ferrata Loen, zipline, kayaking, SUP boards, sledging etc. Loen Skylift, Hoven Restaurant and Loen Active are part of the Hotel Alexandra Group.

Chef Hoven Restaurant As

Hoven Restaurant opened in conjunction with the opening of Loen Skylift in 2017 and is owned by Hotel Alexandra. The restaurant is located 1011 meters above sea level and has about 350 seats divided into two sections, in addition to two large west-facing outdoor terraces and a roof terrace of 1010 m². We serve lunch and dinner dishes with a focus on local ingredients. Throughout the year there are also many different events at the house.

Here we combine good ingredients with magnificent views of Loen and the fjord landscape. We are now looking for an experienced chef who will take responsibility for further developing the food experience at the top. Working hours: Shift work – day, evening and weekend
Working language: Norwegian/Scandinavian and/or English

What we are looking for

  • Certificate as a chef

  • Documented experience as a chef or sous chef

  • Experience with personnel responsibility and operations

  • Knowledge of IK-food, HSE and financial management

  • Good collaboration skills and clear communication

  • Structured, efficient and with high execution ability

  • Good digital competence and experience with relevant IT tools

Must be able to communicate well in Norwegian/Scandinavian and/or English, both verbally and in writing

Work tasks

As head chef, you have overall responsibility for the kitchen. This includes, among other things:

  • Staff and management responsibility for the kitchen

  • Development of menus and concepts in line with seasonal and local ingredients

  • Planning and implementation of events and parties

  • Follow-up of IK food and HSE routines

  • Ordering goods, stock management and cost control

  • Quality assurance of food production and service

  • Contribute to a good and motivating working environment
