Opening hours and prices

Winter season tickets are available from October 14, 2024 through April 30, 2025.
Summer season tickets are available from May 1 to October 12, 2025.

Note the following:

• You can buy tickets in the webshop, at vending machines and at the counter in Fjordshop. NB: Group tickets (family tickets, season tickets) and season tickets can only be purchased at the ticket office in Fjordshop. The tickets are not linked to scheduled departures, so the ticket is flexible in terms of when you want to take the train up or down. The validity date is stated on the ticket (seasonal).

• Children aged 5 years and younger get a free ticket on the track. Strollers can be brought along at no extra cost.

• * Family ticket is valid for 2 adults + 2 children (6-15 years). Extra children can be added, see price list.

• Annual passes are valid for 365 days from the date of purchase and can only be purchased at the ticket office in Fjordshop. NB: Personal attendance is necessary as we take photos of the people to be added to the card. Annual passes are personal and can only be used by the cardholder. Lending personal cards will result in the card being blocked.

• **Family annual pass is valid for 2 adults + their children (6-15 years). Family annual pass only applies to members of the immediate family (e.g. mother, father and children). Family annual pass can include young people in the family from 16-25 years for an additional NOK 1000 per young person. NB: Personal attendance is necessary as we take photos of the persons to be added to the annual pass. Annual passes are personal and can only be used by the cardholder. Everyone who is registered in the Annual Pass family gets their own card. Couples who are married or cohabiting (without children) can also buy an annual pass at the family price.

• Ambassador cards entitle you to buy return, one-way and day passes (1-3 days) at 50% (not season passes or group passes etc). The card is for personal use only. Validity period: One year from date of purchase. You must buy a keycard and ticket in addition when purchasing an ambassador card.

• Day, two-day and three-day passes are personal and can only be used by the cardholder. With a day pass, you can travel up and down the Loen Skylift as many times as you like during the day. It is only valid on the day it is activated. Two-day and three-day passes are only valid on consecutive days.

• Purchased tickets are non-refundable.

• The guest must have a valid ticket/card to be able to board the Loen Skylift. The bar/QR code on the ticket is read at the access gate before boarding. In the event of misuse, a ticket/day pass/season pass/annual pass will be confiscated, a fee will be charged and the guest will be expelled from the Loen Skylift area.

• Loen Skylift does not refund tickets due to weather or other conditions that indicate that it would be unreasonable to open the cable car.

• The Loen Skylift and its associated facilities are thoughtfully designed to ensure full accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

Facts about Loen Skylift

• There is room for 35 passengers in each carriage (2 cars).

• The ride takes 5-7 minutes each way.

• Departure at least every hour and a half, but more often in case of heavy traffic.

• Tickets can be purchased online, at the ticket office in Fjordshop and at vending machines in Fjordshop, Fjord Station and at the top station.

• The Loen Skylift and associated buildings are universally designed. This means that the entire facility is also adapted for those with reduced physical abilities.

• Loen Skylift is a pendulum lift where the technology is based on weight equalization with two large trolleys, where one goes up while the other goes down.

• The supplier is Swiss-Austrian Doppelmayr Garaventa, the world's largest supplier of cable cars.
