Via Ferrata Loen opens on May 1

The work to prepare Via Ferrata Loen for seasonal opening is in full swing, and on May 1 the climbing route can open as planned. Please note that there is still some snow in the upper part of the facility, and in windy conditions there may be blowing snow on the trail.

Via Ferrata Loen is a spectacular climbing trail that is secured with wire all the way, and takes you to the top of Hoven at 1011 meters above sea level. You'll be climbing the whole time with a magnificent view of the fjord, Lodalen, Oldedalen, majestic Skåla and the mountains towards Jostedalsbreen. At 750 meters above the fjord, you will cross Europe's longest via ferrata bridge, and at the top you will meet the Loen Skylift, which takes you back to fjord level. Book a guided tour here.

Ziplina is not ready for the season as there is still too much snow around the facility.

The team, led by operations manager Per Helge Bø, goes over the entire facility, clears paths and replaces wire lengths and wire attachments where necessary.

There is still some snow at the top, but the wire and path have been dug out.
