A moderately demanding hike, where you explore the mountain area around Hoven, and on to Staurinibba (1379 m). The package includes guide and Loen Skylift round trip. The tour can be combined with lunch in Hoven Restaurant.

Tour description

We walk back down the mountain from Hoven on gravel paths and stone steps, and turn eastwards in steep terrain for a while before walking behind and up Staurinibba. The difference in altitude is about 400 m. In total we spend about 5 hours.     

The guide ends the tour at Hoven Restaurant and guests can return with the Loen Skylift whenever they want (note the opening hours).

  • Attendance: Loen Active store in Loen.

  • Arrival Hoven (1011 meters above sea level) with Loen Skylift.

  • Time: 5 hours

  • Length Staurinibba: 5.4 km / 379 vertical meters

  • Degree of difficulty: Medium.

  • Age: 8 years and up. Children must be used to walking in the mountains.

  • Bring: Water, hiking boots (can be rented), warm clothes, waterproof jacket, packed lunch/snacks (baguette can be ordered at least the day before for NOK 80).

  • Availability: May/June - October.

  • The guide ends the tour at Hoven Restaurant & Bar, and the guest has an optional return time with Loen Skylift (note opening hours).

  • Included: Guide and Loen Skylift t/r.

  • Min. number of people to complete the tour: 4 persons. Max 15 people per guide.
