"The great chain party"

- Together with Hoven Restaurant, we have put together a unique menu with meat, offal, milk, cheese, etc. using raw materials from goats. Guests will get to taste the whole animal," says Torstein Kollevåg at Sølvane Gard. For several years he has organized dinners with goat meat in Oslo, Bergen and Sandane. The dinners have been full every time and have received great praise. Kollevåg is one of those who work hard to promote goat meat, and believes the goat is the animal in Norwegian agriculture with the most potential. This time he's joined by his partner Eivind Kandal, and together they want to create a magical evening high in the mountains.

Eivind and Torstein at Sølvane Gard

In January 2019, Eivind Kandal and Torstein Kollevåg took over Sølvane Gard in idyllic Kandalen, starting a new era at the farm where culture and local food are in focus. Eivind is an opera singer with experience from both Norway and abroad. Torstein is from Bergen and has worked with culture for over 15 years and is trained in the performing field with festivals, tours and concerts throughout Norway. Now they are both ready to embark on their new life project in Kandal in addition to opera and other things.

The good life for people and goats in Kandalen

Goats, sheep, horses and deer graze under the glacier in Kandalen. The climate is very special and the nature is untouched, wild and beautiful. The icy river meanders through the valley, creating a lush and wild green landscape. At the farm, they sell meat from the farmers in the valley. The animals in Kandal graze in the fields and eat beautiful herbs, small bushes and fresh mountain grass.
