Tord and Anton have taken up the baton from Louis and co. and are inviting the aviation community to a weekend of flying and fun in Loen. The event is open to everyone, including spg/base/hg - from newly qualified students to seasoned distance pilots.
Loen is a fantastic airfield. The gondola takes you directly up to a large and beautiful takeoff, and there are opportunities for many nice trips. In addition to being Norway's best place for acro, it's also great for spg, base, and thermal flying in spectacular scenery. There will be instructors on site all weekend who can give check-outs on take-off and landing.
It is possible to buy 1/2/3 day passes in the gondola.
There will be a rescue boat on the lake all weekend. This is manned on a voluntary basis. If you want to fly over the lake, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with acrobatic boxes and approach patterns. More detailed information will be available closer to the event.
Accommodation can be found at local campsites, possibly Hotel Alexandra, Hotel Loenfjord or Loen Apartments. The venue for the event will be Lo-Vik camping. Camping is not permitted in the landing area or parking lots associated with Loen Skylift, Loen Active and Hotel Alexandra.
If the weather is bad, there are a number of activities in Loen: Via ferrata, hiking, climbing, cycling and canoeing. A lesson in water rescue with training can also be set up. We provide a wetsuit, harness and wing.
