With a love of Norwegian folk music, Bankvelv has immersed himself in percussion from Western Norway, transferring from traditional accordion and hardanger fiddle to more exploratory saxophone and guitar. The result is energetic and playful improvisation based on the traditional dance beat.

Heidi Kvelvane and Symre Taugbøl Bang met on the jazz line at the Grieg Academy in Bergen and together they form the duo Bankvelv. The project has won two prizes in the open class at kappleik and has been played as a concert at the Bergen International Festival and Nattjazz in Bergen.
