The Iowa State Singers, a mixed choral ensemble with 58 voices, are going on a concert tour in Norway, and on May 22 they will sing on the roof terrace of Hoven . This selected ensemble from Iowa State University in the USA performs the best repertoire from the Renaissance to the present.
This year's program includes new works by American composers Jake Runestad and Elaine Hagenberg. Other composers on the program are Bruckner, Sweelinck, Purcell, Grieg, Pietro Ferrario and Frank Martin. Arrangements of folk music and spirituals conclude each program.
In recent years, the Iowa State Singers have been honored with invitations to perform at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and National Collegiate Choral Organization (NCCO) national music conferences in 2005, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2015 and 2019. Thousands of choral conductors at home and abroad have been thrilled by the choir's performances. In 2013, the singers were honored as national winners of The American Prize, College/University Chorus Division.
