Ole Bull Chamber Choir

"I'm gonna dance to this"

On June 11, the elite choir Ole Bull Chamber Choir Hoven. High in the sky, they will perform Norwegian folk tunes - from the soaring to the daring with full force. There will also be elements of snare drum/tambour drum and cello.

Ole Bull Chamber Choir got the idea for a tour in Vestland after the county merger. The pandemic prevented them from coming out when the county was new, but now they are finally on their way! The repertoire consists of traditional folk songs that meet new music in order to forge cultural ties in the new county of Vestland across the former county borders. The choir always seeks to hold concerts both in and outside Bergen, and is now traveling further than ever in our county. They want to reach out both with their own concert repertoire, while holding more of the concerts together with other choirs, performers and concert organizers. In addition, they have organized several workshops to share their experiences, meet other singers and musicians and gain new experiences that they share with the audience.

The title of the Ole Bull Chamber Choir's part of the concert is taken from Bestelanden, a traditional folk song in a new arrangement by the Bergen-based composer Ørjan Matre.
